Powwow

So back on the tenth my Mum and I went to a powwow in Saline, MI. It's pronounced like Celine Dion, not like saline solution. Anyway, one of the things about powwows is that you have to be very careful who you take pictures of, because it's incredibly disrespectful to just take photos of the dancers in their regalia without permission. And I feel weird as a Native American asking to take a picture with a dancer like they're a tourist attraction, so I took no pictures of the dancing. I did buy this sweet hair tie thing though, so you get a picture of it instead.

Uh...I clearly didn't take this picture, but I like Evgeni Plushenko and feel the need to say so.

That's Memo, the blob in the blanket. He really has a thing about polar fleece blankets.

I'm not sure what he was doing standing on my pillow, but it was funny.
Eventually he laid down on it and looked extra silly.
He was sleeping and looked extra cute with his paw hanging down.

New Room Arrangment

So way back in August I posted pictures of my room and then said I needed to take new ones because I had re-arranged it and then never did. Well, I finally did. The one above is my dresser with my plants on it.
I'm sitting at my desk, that's a bookcase, the top of the desk, and one wall.
My other bookcases, the television, my calendar and bed.
The last bookcase and the small one that contains games and DVDs. That's pretty much it.

Kitty Bed

I got Memo a kitty bed for Christmas. He likes to sit in it.

Moon

The moon was huge this one evening. It was only 6PM when I took the photo.

Cats

For some reason Memo thought that my collapsible file thing was good to sit in. He loves it. I don't know why.
Wisp was all wedged in between my pillows and looked ultra-sleepy and cute, so I took her picture before she woke up and got all grumpy.

Christmas Cookies

So I'm way behind, because of Christmas, and then working, and then just being lazy, so I have to finish out my 2009 pictures. So I'll make a bunch of posts in a row here to get them all done.
Clearly these are Christmas cookies that we made. Yes, there are dinosaurs in there. Christmas dinosaurs.

Pony!!!!

So this lady had brought a pony to the tree farm and kids could get pony rides for four dollars. I was clearly way too big to get a pony ride, so I got a picture and pet the pony for one dollar instead. Isn't he cute?

This is the Christmas tree we cut down. That's my Mom holding onto it. It's pretty sweet.

These are some of the baby Christmas trees growing at Broadview Tree Farm. We go there every year to cut down a Christmas tree. It's in Milford.

Memo and Miss Demeanor being friendly. Actually they were both sleeping and I woke them up.
I had the camera out so Mischief wanted me to take her picture too. She's a pretty girl!

Christmas Lights

So I was really bad about taking pictures and updating this during November because it was NaNoWriMo and I wrote a novel during all my spare time. I'm also having issues finding things to take pictures of. Hopefully the holiday season will change that. Anyway, these are the view from my window of our Christmas lights. They're probably blurry since it's dark.

Halloween 2009

Wow, I am so slow. NaNoWriMo is this month so I've spent most of my time frantically writing. Anyway, here are some Halloween pictures. I was Tom Baker-era Doctor Who. My dad made the K-9 for me out of foam board.

Maple Tree

The maple tree outside my window has finally changed colours!

First Day of Work

This is me, at extremely early in the morning, on my first day of work at Karmanos.

Apple Orchard

This is me at Long's apple orchard in Commerce. I saw these baby apple trees with their first crop of apples and thought they were really cute!

Kitties being friends?!?!

Finally, the long-sought for photographic proof that all three cats can coexist peacefully. I like Miss Demeanor's laser eyes.

Sunflower

The first sunflower that bloomed in our garden. It's gone now; the bluejays came and ate all the seeds.

The Garden

We plant a vegetable garden every year, and this year was the largest one we have ever done. We planted green and red bell peppers, green beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, parsley, basil, garlic chives, and italian chives.

We just transplanted the herbs into pots since there is a frost advisory now. Most everything else is done for the year, although the peppers are still growing. We might get a few more if they survive the frost.

Memo on the Red Pillow

This is a red Moshi pillow that I've had for a while, and I put it out to see if Memo liked it. Now he sleeps there exclusively. I kind of irritated him in the first picture, or caught him before a yawn or something. He looks pretty funny.

Here's one of him sleeping. He's always curled up in it like this. I think he likes it because the little beans in it shift so he can lean on it.

Wisp Under the Bed

Here's Wisp sitting under my bed. I don't know why she was under there, or what she thought she was doing, but there she is. For the record those are Star Wars action figures in the little green bin.

Rainstorm

It rained like crazy this evening so I took a couple of pictures from my window. I was surprised they came out at all.
I've been very busy trying to get a job so I haven't taken any photos yet this September. I'll try to post the rest of my August ones and hopefully get some more taken.
